Q: Shooting Pain In Back And Right Hand Side

Hi im fourteen years old and when i was sitting on my sofa suddenly i had a terrible shooting pain in my back and right hand side.....i really dont know what it it or could be.....im scared and would really welcome any help......or could it be growing pain?...........and i thought i was going to sick and i went to the toilet 3 times......

Please tell me what it could be i would be most thankful

Hey Josh ..

It's nothing to worry about too much, you may be right, it could be a growing pain, or you may have just trapped a nerve, which sent a shooting pain ...... are you still having these pains ...
To help, cool the area down, get some ice, wrap it up in a tea towel or get an Ice pack, and hold it against the area that is hurting for a few minutes and try and do gentle excersises and stretches, but if you are still really worried, then tell your parents and ask them to take you to a doctor.
Growing pains are painful, but it will get better ... Wink
