Q: Skin Pain After Moisture Contact Without Rash

I have strong skin pain with no outside cues, i.e. no rash. This pain only follows contact with any kind of moisture (sweat, taking bath/shower, lotion, muggy weather) and is not always the same in strength. It occurs mostly right after the moisture contact, sometimes already during the contact, i.e. under the shower. Cold water or ice improves the pain afterwards.

It feels like needles hitting the skin or 1000 ants crawling underneath. Nnormally it lasts about 45 minutes. Ii have read about aquagenic pruritus and histamine intolance. Could it be this? Ii need to find a cure since it restricts my living dramatically. I cannot take a bath or wash without pain, I cannot work out or do any kinds of sports since I then sweat and I cannot be outside the house during summer.

This problem has been going on for about 3 years, but on an occasional On-and-Off basis. Sometimes it´s there, sometimes not. Right now and for the last 6 weeks it has been very bad.

I am seeking immadiate help. Can anybody help me? I have seen a Dermatologist and a Family Doctor. Both unable to help me. I would lik eto see an Immunologist or Allergist, but they do recommend it´s something else and won´t give me an appointement after I talked to them on the phone. They don´t want my money obviously.

Does anybody have the same problem? Please help me. I am only 28 years old.

skin pain
I've had skin pain for 50 years. The most important thing I've learned is that I must stay out of direct sun! Sweat with sunshine is terribly painful and I have raised, itchy burning bumps on skin that has been exposed to the sun while sweaty. Use NO sunscreen, NO lotion, NO make-up, and wear loose clothing. One huge plus has been that everyone is shocked to learn my age...even dermatologists!! I'm often told that I have beautiful skin, and that people wish they could look good without makeup like I do Smile I have no choice so I don't care if people think I need makeup or not. You'll adjust.
