Embarassed we were wondering if anybody else has experienced this and if so what does it mean.

After my husband and I have sex, we notice that his semen turns gel like? It's kinda weird and it hasnt' been until recently. But we were wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Thank you;)

Sorry that I don't have the proper vocabulary but I have an idea what it might be. You probably realize that an ejaculation doesn't consist of only sperm. There is an amount of "lubrication" (don't know the proper name) that makes it easier for the sperm to navigate. Sperm (itself) is thick, the "lubricant" is not. Naturally, once exposed to air the lubricant dries very quickly leaving the "thick sperm" looking even thicker! Hence, your description of "gel"?

You say that this is "new"? I believe that with age this lubrication is produced less than when one is younger. Could this be the situation?

I also have a "gel" like substance in my semen. It not the whole amount, but is noticeable and doesn't break up. Was wondering what this is. Start to get me nervous cause I really want to have children soon. Hope it doesn't mean I have some kind of disorder.

Confused

I too am having this problem. There doesn't seem to be any sperm in my ejaculate when this happens. The substance is yellowish and in a 'gel'-like way it's chunky. I think that it might have to do with morning wood and having to pee. I just learned in a college course on human sexuality that we are not supposed to be able to urinate with an erection but I have been able to do so (leaning forward to get the aim) for a few years. The protection that this blockage is supposed to have is so that the urine doesn't effect the sperm (acid kills the sperm). I want kids too so I'm a bit worried. I've also been experiencing mild pain (like the ringing sensations you get after being hit in the balls) and I think this pain might be connected to the tubes that extend from my testicles. It's difficult to pinpoint if this pain has to do with something internal or if it might be a problem with my posture around my pelvic bone (back problems). Could there be a problem that has resulted from masturbating to morning wood or possibly from waiting too long to pee?
