Starting a New Pill And Very Afraid of Nausea
Posted: 09-17-07 08:56am

Okay, I was on Cyclessa for about 4 months without any real problems. I have a weak stomach anyway so when I would randomly feel nauseated it was just kinda normal to me and it didn't happen very often so I wasn't concerned. The only time I ever got sick was like on the 3rd pill of my first pack ever when I took it without food. Well at my annual exam I was switched to Modicon because I was still having cramps with my period and within the couple hours after taking my first pill of modicon I was in the hospital. I couldn't stop throwing up and certain parts of my body started going numb, I was confused, it was bad, lol. A day after that I started my cyclessa back up and threw up that night again but not nearly as much as I did with the Modicon but after that I stopped the pill completely. It's been about a week now and I am being switched to Ortho Tri Cyclen lo today and needless to say I am quite afraid to start due to what I have been through in the last week but I hate this withdrawl bleeding so I am going to deal with it. Has anyone else had nausea of this severity? Is it true that it's better to take your pill at night before bed? Any advice on how to make things smoother? AND! lol are the risks of Nausea and Vomiting a little lower with Ortho Tri Cyclen lo?

With Ortho Tri-lo I only ever had nauseua.... when I took it at night, lol.

The pills are different for every woman. Some women do better and have less nausea if they take it at night. Other women have to take it with food and in the morning or they get nauseous. I was a morning pill person.

Really? Wow this really does break down into individuality. I noticed alot of issues when I took my pill around like 6 in the evening recently. I was thinking of taking it at night with some food like a sandwich or something healthy like applsauce or fruit. I despise being sick Crying

Oh me too, I hate nausea XD
Sounds like a plan! A warning that for some reason I developed night-sickness back in january, involving milk and bagels with my pill. It randomly crops up now during the months, even though I'm not on the pill. It lasts a few nights and then goes away for a few months. I've learned to control it, and also to not eat anything near bed time during those few days!
