Q: Why Does My Shoulder Hurt?

i was in a football game the other night and when i went to make a tackle i got hit in my back and i landed right on my shoulder. i has been hurting since then and i cannot relax it because when i do it feels like its going to fall out of socket. and it is also really sore on top? does anyone have any suggestions?

use some heat on it --you may have bruised it. you should also get it checked out.

You could have a slight dislocation. If you will alternate heat and cold, it should help with any swelling and muscle pain.

If your shoulder continues to hurt then visit the doctor's to check it out. I dislocated my shoulder as a kid by being bucked off a horse and I had it x-rayed. Then the doctor pulled on my wrist until the bone popped back into the socket. He used a shot of lidocaine to numb the area first.

They also gave me pain medication to take for a week. I hope this helps.
