Hello ladies. I was recently in need of the "morning after pill" and came across some great information. It turns out that map is actually just high doses of birth control. So, in this following website, it lists a lot of pills and how to use them as emergency contraception. This way you do not have to make an appointment and go to the doctor (or wait until monday when you needed it saturday!)
now, of course, this is not to be used a lot. Only when absolutely necessary, but I thought this may help. Thanks!

We are lucky, in australia the morning after pill is available without a perscription at any pharmacy.

Its only given to females, who have to be asked all the same questions that a doctor would ask (by a trained pharmicist). And I think there is a limit to the amount you can get in any 6 month period so there are some precausions.

But wouldnt it make life easier, if the need arose.

Thanks for the info btw.

Rolling Eyes for god's sake no-one follow this womans advice. It could be fatal! You should never take your medication except as it is prescribed. There are controls on how the morning after pill is given because it is very strong medication that can have bad side effects. It is not something to mess about and experiment with ever. See a doctor or a pharmacist, don't sit at home at risk your health for the sake of 'convenience'.

Oh my god fatal! Are you insane? It is not "my advice" it is right there in the planned parenthood website. It is the same thing! Idealy you should go to the doctor but you are suppose to take the "emergency contraception" as soon as possible after intercourse. So, if you have sex on friday night, you could not get the map until monday morning. At that point it could be too late.
You obviously do not know very much about birth control or emergency contraception, so I really don't think that you should be telling people to not listen to me. I am not saying "hey, everyone do this" I am simply letting everyone know that this is an option and the same as taking the morning after pill.
And it is not "messing around" or "experimenting" it is another use for the prescribed pills. You obviously did not even visit the website that I listed as it gives exact directions for each pill!

I agree hotasfrick, that woman is crazy!!

I dont understand why you think it can be fatal! Talk about overdramatic.
Of course you'd have to be sensible when you did it but it is no different to taking the pill, its just the same thing at a higher dosage.
Same ingrediants and everything.

Just use your common sense.

With a little research, amber, you will see that the info given is correct.Just because you may have not seen or heard of this before does not mean that it is not accurate.Hotasfrick is not suggesting that anyone just take a bunch of pills. She offered a website from planned parethood, the source for contraception in the world!!On that website you will find guidelines on how to use the bcp's you already have as emergency contraception. The whole point of emergency contraception is to get it asap and not have to wait!!This info is very good to have on hand, you never know when you'll need it!Thanks again for insightful and accurate research, frick!Patty
