After finishing my last pill on Saturday instead of waiting a week to take new ones from a brand new pill pack I took one of the pills from the new pill pack without thinking. What should I do??? Should I keep taking the pills normally?? Or take those brown pills that don't have anything in them?? IDK HELP!! This is how I usually take pills. I have 7 white pills that I have to take for 3 weeks then I have brown pills with nothing in them that I take for a week. And then after those 7 brown pills are gone I start a new pack starting with the first white pill from the new pack and what I basically did without thinking accidently is after taking the last white pill saturday I took the first white pill from the new pack on Sunday (today) which should have been the first brown pill??? Is there a 24 hour hotline for this kind of thing?? anyone did this before what should i do?? By the way I take Microgestin FE 1/20

Well you could experiment in what happens when you try to skip your period!

This isn't harmful, it doesn't lower your protection or anything.

You haven't hurt yourself or lowered your protection so don't worry! Pretty much, you could just start on brown pills tomorrow for 6 days instead of 7. If you have extra packs lying around, take the first pill from one of those packs after your 6-day placebo week. That way, your new month will be normal length on active pills. After you borrow that first pill, go back to the first pack you accidentally took a pill from and take those as normal. The second pack that you "borrowed" the first active pill from should be set to the side and used as a back up pack, in case you oopsie again, or drop a pill down the drain or lose it in the carpet, that kind of thing!

I'm going to recap myself (both of these options are safe!):

Option one:
If you don't have another extra pack lying around -
Keep taking the new active pack and see how your body handles skipping your period.

Option two:
If you do have another pack lying around -
Wait 6 days instead of 7, just so the week days stay the same.
"Borrow" the first active pill from the extra pack. Then, the next day, (day 2) go back to your first pack, the one you accidentally took the first pill from.

Thx
Thank you so much! I think I am going to keep taking the active pills and see how that comes out.

Thank you!

Kimberly,
When I used to take BC pills, I always skipped the "sugar pills" except every 3 months, and I would only get my period every 3 months. I liked it much better this way, and my OBGYN said it was perfectly healthy.
