Hi Everyone -

I have been having a lot of problems with my birth control for about the last year and a half.

I was on Seasonique because I thought that I wanted to try only having 4 periods a year...that was a joke, I think I had breakthrough bleeding for almost a month straight. Also, I noticed significant hair loss with this pill. I felt depressed, and the littlest things would upset me. I basically felt like an emotional wreck.

For the last 3 months I have been taking Solia (which is the generic for Desogen). I am not taking this pill continously, so I have a period every month, but my acne has gone wild!

I am very frustrated. I want a pill that is okay to take continously and will help clear up my skin.

I have been thinking about taking Yasmin. Is there anyone out there that is taking Yasmin continously...like when you get to week 4, you are starting your new pack instead of having a period?

Does anyone know if it is even safe to take Yasmin continously?

I appreciate anyone's help.

Thank you! Confused

ANY monophasic pill, like Yasmin or desogen, can be used continuously, and it is safe Smile

It is considered medium low dose.

YASMIN has 30 mcg of estrogen, FEMCON has 35.

IF she has problems with certain hormones, a higher dose may not be a good idea.

She should consider a lower dose, or non hormonal method.
