Q: Damage From Pap Smear?

Would anyone know if it's possible to sustain nerve damage from a PAP smear? Two days after having mine, my pelvic area and feet went numb & tingly, and remain that way now for 2 weeks.

Thanks!

Highly unlikely that this was caused by a pap smear!

Have you gone to the doctor for this? Sounds like back problems.

I don't see how this could cause a problem. A pap smear only involves getting a sample with a swab or a small brush. If any damage was done, I would assume it would be from the speculum, the device gynos use to widen the opening of the vagina during the examination.

Well I cant really feel anything when I use the restroom, 1 & 2. Sometimes it feel itchy, like the numbnes is going away, but Im not sure. I'm afraid there was nerve damage, but how and when? I was thinking it could be from the speculum, but what should I do? During sexual intercourse there is little feeling as well.
