I had an IVP to look for kidney stones that had been seen on ultrasound last year. However, the report does not mention stones or calculi (as I think they are officially called) in the findings. Instead under findings it notes: "Focal calcification in the right suprarenal recess consistent with adrenal calcifications, measuring approximately 1.0 cm in greatest dimension" Under impression it notes: FOCAL CALCIFICATION OF THE RIGHT ADRENAL.

Is this the same as a kidney stone? If not, what the heck is it, what does it mean? I have not been able to see the MD yet.

I tried google but did not have much luck. Thanks....

Edited: Guess I should add that it also notes: NORMAL EVALUATION OF THE KIDNEYS, COLLECTING SYSTEMS, URETERS AND URINARY BLADDER.

Which makes me think the calcification is something other than a stone.
