Q: Am I Pregnant?

It's now September and I had unprotected sex in the last week of June. I am on birth control, and haven't stopped taking it although I thought I may be pregnant. I never missed a pill a day, but I am on other drugs that may alter how well it works. When it was time for me to get my period I got it, but it was not regular at all. It was mainly brown blood, lasted two days short, and was very very light-no dark blood at all. I took two pregancy tests that resulted in negative. When it came time for my second period I got it and it was about the same as the first period except a little darker, but mainly all brown blood. I took two more tests and both came out negative. All around this time I never had morning sickness or felt sick. About a week and a half ago I had my third period and it was more like normal-it had more regular blood in it. I'm worried that I may have just been getting my period because I'm on the pill and it's supposed to make me get my period? Just recently I've been worried I'm pregnant again because I just started getting red bumps and dots around my stomach, and I read somewhere that if you're pregnant you may get red bumps on your stomach pumping blood there. Also, I've been having major pains in the left area of my lower stomach. It feels like something is 'growing' there if that makes any sense. It's just the wierdest feeling, it's like a cramp, but nothing I've ever felt before. It's never happened before, and it's been lasting about a week and half. I don't know if I should start worrying again and see a doctor for good? It's been two months!! Is there any possible way I could be pregnant?

Thanks.

I doubt you are pregnant but it might ease your mind to take a pregnancy test.

The birth control pill does not 'make' you have your period. Those pills you take for 7 days are sugar pills with no hormones. Not having the hormones will cause you to have your period.

One great thing about birth control pills is that you can have shorter, lighter periods! YAY! That may be what you are having.

yes, I've taken four tests. Two after what seemed to be my first period, and two after my second one, and they came out negative, but i wasn't sure if that had to do with hormones from my birth control. the last time i took a test was in early august

Birth control will not affect a pregnancy test either way. You need the hormone HCG to show up in your urine for a pregnancy test to be positive. No HCG, no pregnancy.

It does not sound as if you are pregnant at all.
