Q: What to Think of This?

Hello, I am new to these forums and decided to join today because of some things going on with me. It's probably too early for me to take a pregnancy test, so I am waiting for another week to pass before I do. Meanwhile, I am obsessing over the question "Am I pregnant or not??" Now, I have never been pregnant before so that's why I am so confused. Anyway, here's the deal: Me and my fiancee had sex a few days before my last period, which started on Aug 25. We also had sex a few days after that period, but for some reason I think if I am pregnant we conceived the time before my period started. (No BC or condoms, just pulling out method. We aren't trying for a baby, but aren't NOT trying really either.) It was kinda a normal period, but looking back I didn't really pay too much attention to it. Well, anyway, after that period ended, maybe a few days later I got really swollen, sore breasts. I also had a minor, annoying headache almost each day since then. I have trouble sleeping thru the night, and am feeling wiped-out during the day. About a week and a half after my last period I was sweating A LOT and felt hotter than usual for a couple days. I have also been getting light-headed and a little bit queasy throughout the day. Today I really noticed the sick feeling, because I almost tossed my cookies on the kitchen floor for no reason. I am bloated and look "fluffier" than normal in the face and tummy, and I am getting minor cramps in my stomach. I am due for my period about Sept 23ish, so I was wondering when would be a good time to take a HPT? Does this seem like I can be pregnant?

A good time to take a pregnancy test would be when you miss your period. Generally, women do not have pregnancy symptoms until they miss a period. Some fortunate women do not get any symptoms at all other than a missed period.

Your symptoms can be attributed to normal monthly hormone fluctutation. Which makes early pregnancy symptoms hard to detect, because it is just hormones or pregnancy hormones?

Good luck.

Well, I couldn't say for sure whether you are pregnant or not, but that was how I was feeling before I found out I was.
I was on the pill though.
I would try not to stress too much about it until you have missed your period. Just the thought of the possibility of being pregnant can make you feel like you are experiencing symptoms.
After you find out for sure, if you are not pregnant, I would get on birth control. The pull out-method does NOT work. There is pre-ejaculation that can lead to pregnancy.
The best way to ensure not getting pregnant is to use condoms and birth control. You may even qualify for free birth control, depending on your income. It can be reduced, at least. (A lot cheaper than raising a kid)

Thanks for the information.

We aren't going to use birth control. We decided to wait and see what happens. We have been together since we were fifteen, we own a nice home, SUVs, etc. We are def getting married and he alone makes a six-figure income, so it's not like we can't handle it. Luckily, we have the means so we are not even really scared. Now isn't exactly the time we WANTED a child, but it wouldn't be bad either.

As for the symptoms I never experienced them before. I usually get the sore boobs, cramping, headaches and tiredness about two days before period, so that's why I am wondering. Oh well.

In any case, thanks a lot! Smile
