Please help, at the beginning of the year I was a very healthy 39 year old, planning to run the las vegas marathon ( with much training of course), beginning in may i developed a stomache virus, which progressed into 2 months of nausea and vomitting intermittently, that turned into bronchitis for 6 weeks and currently presents as such; 7 weeks of headaches, nausea, excessive fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, even severe skin sensitivity to where even showering hurts sometimes. i have hot flashes that last weeks, and it seems that almost daily my symptoms change. the doctors agree that it is an autoimmune disorder but do not know what and seem to be okay giving me steroids and pain meds to treat the symptoms but do not seem involved in finding/treating the cause. does this sound familiar to anyone?

Joint Pain
I am not a doctor so I cannot say what it is you have , I presume all your blood work came back normal.

A lot of immune disorders have similar symptoms, however most of what you describe appears to fit the bill for fibromyalgia.

They say fibro can be triggered by a virus ( mine was) joint pain, skin hyper sensitive ( clothes sometimes hurt) , unable to control body temperature, pain pain and more pain that travels around your body, it can be a dull ache, sharp shooting pains, deep burning pain, every type of pain imaginable..fatigue and headaches.

If you Google Fibromyalgia you will see that diagnosis is made mainly by the presence of tender points. Using the chart test these areas on your body. When pressed these points will burn and hurt for a while after pressing the area. If you have no pain in 11 of the 18 points then that should rule out fibro.

Diagnosis of fibro often takes years.

Keep going back to your doctor, ask for a referral to a rheumatologist and then hopefully they can diagnose you. As I said previously, immune disorders all have overlapping symptoms make the doctors figure it out for you. I know your frustration. Sad

Extremely eHealthy
Yes, you can have auto-immune desease and still have a normal white count. But, if you get sick with anything cold etc......it hits us worse because we don't have the immuity to fight it off. Then your white blood count can go up to over 27,000 like mine did with double pneumonia. You must be careful to not be around people you know are sick or may be getting sick. We can fight it off and the common cold attacks us so much worse. I was so bad at one time, I was actually agroaphobic. Never left the house and had a case of Lysol spray in every room and would use it three to four times a day. You talk about having a phobia. Whoa!
