Hi, I have another question. I am 7 weeks
pregnant and have quit smoking but I am
finding it sooooooo hard. Especially at
home, because my fiance smokes like a
chimney. I talked to him about quiting but
he is having a hard tme too. Does anyone
have any tips to ease the cravings? I get
very angry and moody and tired. Is the
necotine patch safe to use durring
pregnancy since it still has necotine in
it. All my friends tell me to just cut
down gradually instrad of quitting right
away because I have been on and off
smoking for 12 years, about a pack a day,
but i dont want to do that. Its the
hardest thing, as the cravings are bad and
constantly on my mind at work, home, while
driving and especially after I eat. Any
advise?

As difficult as it is cold turkey is the
best way to give up (done the same thing
myself and, yes it is hard!!).
I would ask your fiance not to smoke in
the house if he doesn't want to give up as
it's still not great to have passive
smoking when pregnant but if you ask your
doctor or midwife they can give you some
help and advice about the best way for you
to deal with it.

I can TOTALLY empathise with you on this
one. As I'm sure MANY of us can.
It SUCKS to have to quit smoking but
rememeber that there is a life inside of
you.
It'll get easier once you start feeling
the baby move. To remind you of the
blessing in your belly.
I would suggest GUM! And plenty of it!!
It's been 3 years since I've smoked and
it's gross to me now. But it was SOO hard
at first....My hubby didn't stop and would
smoke in the car with me, in the house,
etc. Our daughter is 1 1/2 and he JUST
quit in preparation for this new baby.
Good luck!!! And know that we're here for
you when you need to have a nicotine
vent!!

Thank you so much for all of your help and
replies! I tried gum and it does actually
work. And keeping really busy helps too.
Thanks again, you all are gerat!
