Brown Recluse Spider .... Posted: 09-12-07 17:11pm
I think i found a BABY (of all things)
Brown recluse spider it has the fangs and
the distinctive body type (although no
violin image on back). I had a friend who
lives in an attic and she was bitten and
recieved horrible skin deterioration and
lots of pain. I live in the basement
and have a little dog and today when i got
home i saw this spider Right next to his
water bowl dead of God knows what. Mabye
my dog killed it. But i know that these
spiders can kill humans up to 7 years of
age and obviously kill dogs too. I am so
scared for me and my dog i don't know what
to do. Oh and i live in WI all the maps i
could find say that they only live in the
united states up to illinois.
My main questions are
1. can i get rid of them and if so HOW?
2. find out if it is even the dangerous
Brown Recluse.
I have it DEAD in a bag but i have no
idea who to take it to. Or even who to
call.
3. Do you know agency that i can call or
go see that can help me with this?
Thank you so much i know this is long so
if your reading this thank you so much and
please give me your opinion even if you
only have the opinion.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

you could always call the poison control
center--they would know what to do.

Bring to a University Posted: 11-29-07 16:04pm
You could bring the spider to a university
and give to a science teacher they could
tell you what kind of spider it is and
what precautions to take. I would get a
bomb and bomb your basement, you have to
leave the house over night but better safe
then sorry. Watch your dog for irregular
activity!!
GOODLUCK!!

Odds are against it being a brown recluse,
but if you really want to know, call up a
pest control place like Orkin, and have
them take it an analyze it. Then of
course, get your place sprayed from head
to toe with an appropriate insecticide.
Odds are that if you've got one, you've
got more lurking somewhere. Try looking
around at night with a flashlight as
they'll likely be hunting then...
