I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. I am 7 weeks pregnant and I just has a miscarriage 4 month ago and another 1 year ago. I am very scared and nervous for it to happen to me again. Last time around my breasts stayed swollen and tender for 2 months even after I miscarried, and my doctor told me to watch this time for signs of not feeling pregnant all of a sudden. Well, 2 days ago, my breasts started to go down and no longer feel tender. Does this mean I am having a miscarriage again? Is this bad??? I also stopped feeling as tired as I used to, and I am having these weird cramps on my right side like the last time, they are not like period cramps, but like when you get a cramp in your foot and everythings tightens up and hurts really bad for about 3 minutes or so, until it lets go, especially if a lay on my back and cough or sneeze, I get a real bad cramp unless i turn to my side and curl up. The doc told me this was just miscle pain, but the pain is a 10 and it happened durring my last pregnancy too. Please advise!!!!

Pregnancy symptoms can come and go. You are still quite early in your pregnancy so this could be normal for you.

The best thing to do, although the hardest thing to do, is to relax. If things get too bad, or you are too anxious, please call your doctor again.

good luck!

I advise that you see your doctor.
You might need to be on bedrest or something.

At 7 weeks into a pregnancy bed rest would not change any outcome that would be happening. Her doctor already advised her that is was muscle related.

She said the pain was from muscles.... She said her doctor told her to look out for signs of not feeling pregnant. Her breasts are less swollen and smaller and she is less tired.

I still think the best thing for you to do is see your doctor.
A lot of women who are prone to having miscarriages ARE put on bedrest early.

What I should have said was: at 7 weeks pregnant you cannot prevent a miscarriage.

Well that's a prostitute of a different color! Laughing
I was just trying to help. I wasn't aware that @ 7 weeks it is impossible to prevent a miscarriage.

I just think that she knows her body better than anyone else and if she feels something is wrong, she should go to the doctor. He can give her better advice than any of us.

I agree. She should see a doctor. But when she said her doctor told her it was muscle cramps, I assumed she already had seen a doctor. Then when her doctor told her to watch her symptoms, I would have assumed, instead of posting to a message board about it, she'd have called him since he said to watch for loss of symptoms.

Losing symptoms can be common though. They may be lost for a day or two - or maybe, if a person is very lucky, they will never get any symptoms. Smile

When pregnancies are lost early (first trimester), it usually cannot be something that can be prevented - perhaps a chromosomal abnormality or something along those lines. Miscarriage is more common in the first trimester than in later trimesters when other measures can be taken to prevent such happenings.

Thank you all so much for your help. I have not had much luck with the doctors. My first two pregnancies I went into the emergency room about 4 to 5 times and was told everything looked ok, and they didnt know why i was in pain untill i had my misscarrages. Thats why i am seeking help, maybe someone has had the same experiences. I am supposed to see if my pregnancy hormone increases within 48 hours, hopefully it does.

Have you had your bloods drawn then?

What are your numbers? When is your next draw?

ER is seldom a good place to go when you are having difficulties in pregnancy. Since this is your third pregnancy, maybe you should see a perinatologist.

Yes, I had blood drawn and she told me it was around 4600. She read a chart and said that this should mean that i am about 4 to 5 weeks, but I am 7. Last pregnancy my numbers were at 1800 when I was 7 weeks but they also doubled, so I don't really get the whole numbers thing. I will definantly take your advise and try to see a perinatologist. My next draw is on the 18th.

Why so far away? Your numbers should double every 48 hours. And the 18th is like a week away.
