I have not had a period in 3 months. I take Yaz bc pills. My ob/gyn said that it is okay to miss periods, that it means my uterus is quiet and that's what he wants. Last year, he removed a felopian tube and ovary that had been damaged by clamydia as a teenager. My remaining felopian tube is not connected to anything. I have sharp pains throughout my pelvic area, my ob/gyn says that he feels it may the remnant (the felopian tube that is not connected) that is causing the sharp pains. He has offered to remove the remnant or have a hysterectomy. I want neither at this time. I do however worry with my medical past, that me not having periods could be dangerous. I recently heard of a woman dying from missing her period because of her bc pills, she had blood clots in her brain!
I do trust my ob/gyn, but part of me is saying, get a second opinion! But, the search for this ob/gyn was torture, I went through 3 before that didn't know what was wrong with me.
