Posted: 09-11-07 19:27pm

i wasn't sure if this should go here or not but here goes...

this morning my doc called and said i had an abnormal pap
and need to come in for a biopsy...
they said i have mild displaysia(sp)...and they'll figure out more in the
biopsy...

my question is..
do i need to stop having sex with my bf..
or how likely is it that I will pass it on to him??

You have HPV. This means your boyfriend has HPV also.

You do not need to stop having sex with him. You cannot 're-infect' yourself.

No biggie. As long as you catch it early you will be fine. Dysplasia is cause by HPV, which is a very common STD. I was diagnosed about 6 months ago. I got a cryo done and just wne in for my 4 month check up for a pap to see if it is back or if everything it ok. I should be hearing back soon.

All this means is you need to keep up tp date on regular gyno check ups. There are no effects seen is men and there is also no test to see if he has it so he would never know otherwise.
