Q: dark, swollen, painful bruise on my hand - Insect Bite?

I have developed a dark bruise on my hand (its about a 2" circle) and there appears to be a light color/mark in the center - It is slightly swollen and it is painful to the touch. There is no visable puncture mark but if this isn't a bite then what could it be? Any ideas Question

Did you ever find out what this was and what caused it and how to get rid of it?
My daughter has the exact thing.
