Many lo-dose pills stop a woman's period. This is normal.

The reasons pills work is because they trick your body into thinking it is already pregnant. That's why you don't ovulate.

Well obviously, women go nine months without a period when they are pregnant, and after birth, they can possibly ovulate within a month! So you not having a period for 6 months on birth control is not harmful at all.

That said, it may take your body several (aka 3-5) months to get back to normal. Ovulation tests can help you predict when your body is back on schedule.

You may or may not get a period within the next 28 days. That too is normal.

Although Eiri sounds like she knows much more than i do about this....

I just wanted to say that i was on the generic loestrin 24 1/20 (so the low dose) and i got my period everytime. Sometimes twice (so every week and a half i would have it for abotu 3 days, that was the first two months though. The third month it did come on time and only once Very Happy but now i'm on another generic form...so pretty much the same thing, but i haven't gottin' to the last week yet. Sorry i couldn't be more help to you! Good luck though...
