I had a Hidascan done the other day and the Technician told me my gallbladder was only at 20% does this mean i will have to have it removed. My right side really hurts and it goes around my side up between my shoulder blades. i have appointment with doc. tomorrow but was just wandering what someone else thought.

I've been doing some research on this because I'm having upper right quadrant pain. As far as I can tell, yes, the only 'cure' for a sluggish gallbladder is to remove it.

I am having a hida scan on the 20th. Do the technicians normally tell you anything about the results or do you have to wait to hear from your doctor?? I am in so much pain and my tests so far have all come out clean.

In my area, no technician will tell me anything.

I had my doc appoint ment and i am scheduled to have surgery on mon 17th. I asked my tech and he told me he could give me the percentage it was working but could not tell me what that meant that the doc would have to tell me that. will write after the surgery to tell you about it.

I think you are one of the lucky one's. I wish you well with your surgery. Make sure to give updates on how you are recovering.
