You certainly can't just ignore it and expect it to go away but for me getting better required learning the coping skills I learned from cbt. Once you begin to counter your thoughts that cause the anxiety it will become more manageable. Try and join a cbt group or you can read the book I always recommend to start with that we used in my group called Been there, done that? Do This! By sam obitz. It's a short easy book and pretty encouraging. It takes dedication but if you are willing to work on yourself cbt will make a huge difference for you Exclamation

Stess Managment Is Not Easy
Self disipline and stress managment is very hard. In saying this, I am talking as far as leaving a job, family intervention, doing things you like to do to re-direct your brain. You have to know what your "tiggers" are and stay away from them. Meaning whatever it is that sets you off on an attack. You have to try and avoid those area's of your life. Sometime it is very hard. It depends on how much you care about yourself and your well being. You have to keep your "Tiggers" in check.

The only cure for anxiety is The Linden Method. Do it, it worked for me and now I m 100%. After having it for 9 years of my life. And you are right the cure to anxiety is not paying attention to it, divert your mind always.

Lore26, You my friend are going in the right direction. Everyone has to realize that yes, their is medication out there. But it is what we call :Masking the symptoms:. We all expect these medications to be a magic wand for us, when the truth is, we ourselves need to do our part too. Between both, we are able to keep our quality of life in check. We just cant set by and expect our medication to do all the work for us.

Bravo! Keep up the good work and you will fell better for it.

Hugs,
MsSky

Diverting is like masking, it helps but is no cure. Linden's method is simply more expensive packaging of CBT. He took from cbt and called it his own. But if he's now telling you to divert rather than deal with the anxiety and realize that it is the phallicies in your thinking that cause anxiety he's doing you and everyone else a disservice. You need to confront the anxiety and realize that it is there because you are not processing things realistically and therefore causing anxiety and then you will naturally not have to pay attention to it because it disappears.

This is so right on the money! I felt this way for years to my own detriment and finally when I combined cbt with my meds did I heal myself and eventually get off of all meds. GREAT POST MsSky Idea

Facing your fears and putting things back into perspective is what cbt is all about. Good job inexcessive.

It's been longer than six months since my last posts so don't feel badly Cece. I have been feeling good but main reason I have not posted is because I have been crazy busy.

Obviously... Join in people. Life is too short to wallow and stay stuck where you are. Did all the people with positive story's leave once they felt better?
CBT works people if you work at it!
