Because you're either not drinking enough, or, you ate something that is making it red. Those are the two most common causes, neither of which are too dangerous (though get something to drink right away!).
You may also have blood in your urine though I don't know what that looks like.
Either way, drink some clear fluids like water, give it a day or so, and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, or is associated with abdominal pain, then tell your parents if you live at home to take you to a doctor.

That sounds really painful, unless it's something you ingest...

If it was blood you would be able to tell, at least from my experience. Amber pee just means you're dehydrated or ate something (like Eiri said). It should go away.

When i had a bladder infection....not saying thats what you have cause you would know something was wrong....but i had i think 3x the amount of blood in my urine that a normal person has wtih a bladder infection and i could only see it on the toilet paper which was VERY VERY VERY light..it was just like a redish/brown tint, and that was on white toilet paper. SO unless its a hell of a lot of blood i don't think thats what it is.

does it burn or stink when you pee?
when I've had a UTI, my urine was that color. Drink cranberry juice, eat yogurt, buy some over the counter AZO or something similiar....and call your doctor to see him/her.
