Go see an ob-gyn. There may be a cream s/he can give you to help it heal faster. Until then, there's not much you can do.

I was just wondering what your result was because I am experiencing just that exact thing right now. I had one tear (kind of a split in the skin on my inner labia on one side of the opening. I gave it almost a week to heal and then had sex again with my boyfriend and now I'm noticing that the first cut is almost healed, but there is another one on the opposite side. I have an appointment with my obgyn tomorrow, but I'd really appreciate hearing what you went through.

Pain and irritation from sex can be caused by more serious underlying conditions- you should get checked!

im also experiencing a vaginal cut rite now, it doesnt hurt so bad, but i wanted 2 kno how long its gonna take 4 it 2 heal, and the next time i have sex if it is highly likely that it will happen again.

Go to the obgyn and see if you can be prescribed something to make it heal faster. Also, maybe get it checked out to make sure it isn't std related. Refraining from sex for a little would probably be good so you don't keep agitating and reopening it.

I had this when I was pregnant. Apparently my boyfriend was extremely into me at that time and we just had a ton of sex. I went to the doctor and the doctor just told him to lay off....So we had to stop having sex for a good 3-4 weeks. You have to give it more time to heal than you would if it were a cut on your finger reason being that the cut on your finger hits the air and dries up fast and heals. The vaginal tear is pretty much always moist and does not heal as fast. The doctor did not give me anything but tell me to chill out on the sex for a bit and we did and I was fine within a month.

I had this problem a litttle over a year ago. i went to the gyn and she told me that it could be friction and gave me some lube to use and I bought my own also. We used lube ever since and I didn't have that problem again.

I had sex last night and when we got of bed we noticed that there was blood on the sheets. I had finished my period a week and a half ago so I knew that wasn't the cause so it really freaked me out. I have never bled after having sex before. It had been a few weeks since we had seen each other and I felt a bit sore our second time together, but I've been abstinent for a year and half without bleeding the initial time. It seemed like a lot of blood initially until I calmed down and I realized that it seemed like so much because it had mixed with "other bodily fluids". When I took a shower I felt a stinging sensation inside close to the entrance of me and realized I had a small cut. I'm assuming it's cut since I don't feel torn. I was relieved that I knew this is what had caused me to bleed and not something more serious, but now I'm just surprised. To my knowledge I have never been cut or torn before and I want to know if this is common for women? The sex was a bit rough, but that's nothing new. I was wet so that wasn't a factor. It did feel as if he was hitting the wall of me at times so I don't know if that's it. Anything anyone could tell would be great...thanks!!!!!

It sounds like that particular position caused a little extra damage to the wall of your vagina.

Thanks for your reply Eiri. I guess it did. Is this a common situation for women? I've always been a studious person, sex included, but I've never read about this issue. Is it common for women to experience this? Should I be concerned?

Well, the vagina is a delicate area. I don't know how common it is, but I do hear of a lot of women on this board with fissures/cuts. I wouldn't worry.

my boyfriend and I had some very rough dry sex 2 wkends ago . . . the next day I noticed it stung a little when I peed. then the next day I got really itchy . . . I'm very prone to yeast infections and can recognize the symptoms, but have never had a tear that has lasted this long - about a week now . . . I'm very paranoid and went to the doc to get std checked . . . at first he told me that my cut looked a little like herpes, then I told him that when I started itching, I scratched - hard! after he did my yeast test he came back and said that it was probably from the yeast and rough sex and scratching . . . but I got the std tests anyway - have to wait a week for the results . . . bottom line is, I'll get tears/cuts around my vagina from time to time if I have dry sex, get fingered too much, during my period, etc... if you're positive you're clean, then just remember to use lube! also, don't have sex until it's healed up - you're only prolonging the healing. and it is a very very sensitive area with very delicate skin. when you tinkle now, dab or pat instead of wipe and never wipe your poo toward your vagina. ps - I didn't like what the doctor initially said so I had my best girlfriend come over and give me a second opinion, she's a nurse practitioner and said I just had a tear and nothing more

Hi all - I have what seems to be a similar problem. I had somewhat dry and prolonged sex about 5 days ago. I knew I had torn a little, and immediately after sex it stung quite a lot to urinate, which would indicate some cuts/tears.

The pain when urinating subsided after about a day, but I was still experiencing vaginal pain in the areas that were stretched/torn. It was getting uncomfortable, and today I woke up with a little blood, right from the opening of my vagina.

I took a bath and examined myself and found both at the opening and to the side of my opening to be some cuts. I don't know if I can describe them as cuts or sores. They look almost like what a canker sore in your mouth looks like if you were to bite the inside of your lip and it's trying to heal. They are in the exact area that were stretched/torn at the time of intercourse.

To be safe I visited a doctor and she immediately stated I have herpes. She seemed almost put out when I asked for a swab test. I explained that I had pain in this same area from the time of the intercourse and I didn't think you could contract herpes and have it sting during urination 10 mins after the event, but she kept stating over and over I have herpes.

I have a friend who over the years has TWICE been told incorrectly she has herpes - once after rough sex and once due to yeast related issues.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm completely freaked out now and have to wait a week for results.

Hun, do not fret. It is VERY unlikely, almost impossible that you would contract herpes and almost immediately break out in the telltale ulcers. I can tell you that I have had tears that have been similar to ulcers on my vag and they were due to FRICTION burns from rough sex. Good on you to ask for the swab test. By the way, peeing on an open wound is almost always going to sting. Its sad that your doctor would not be educated enough to know that. There are salts and ammonia and other skin irritants in urine. That is why if you have an accident, or dribble pee on your leg, even if there is no open wound, it will itch a bit. Sorry, TMI...lol. I have a bit of urine incontinence from having babies so I kinda know what I am talking about.

Thanks for the response. I keep going back and forth between thinking I don't have it and trying to mentally prepare myself that I do. Initial searches on the internet have found pictures that appear more like blisters and the like; mine are not blisters they're more like little cankers or ulcers, but further searches have found pictures of herpes that look just like that.

The only thing making me think that it's NOT herpes is the fact that I did have some rough/dry sex and the SAME area was inflamed/torn immediately after intercourse. I thought it made sense that maybe I suffered several little abrasions, and perhaps they are now irritated/infected, but today I definitely feel worse. And I'm reading that if you feel worse, not better, that it's likely herpes.

I'm just confused because my girlfriend had a similar situation and it turned out to not be herpes. But this doctor was so adamant. I recently moved to a new country and didn't even have a GP, so it was the first time I saw this woman and I just found her to be very uncaring and made me feel worse. I thought it was likely that I had abrasions from the stretching due to dry sex and went there for REASSURANCE and have now spent the entire day in bed by myself in a new city crying. I don't know what to do. I don't know how I'm going to wait a week for these results.

hey im only fairlly new to sex but i had a tore and i thought it cured affter a week then it split back open it hurt so bad.. i have been wating for it to cure for like 2- 3 weeks now and theres still a tear is there anythign that can make it heal quicker and any prevention to stop the tear happning again

SO many of us have had this problem. I am currently having this problem of a tear and pain during sex. At the moment to help it heal i am using neosporn and I am not sure its working but i dont have insurance and cant afford to go see a doctor. THe closest clinic to me is 2 hours away so im stuck. Good luck all and if any of you have any ideas to help me i would gladly accept your advice and opinions
