I have recently been diagnosted with pseudotumor cerebri by a neurologist due to my optic nerves being swollen. he currently has me on 250mg of diamox, 2x a day, if needed 3. i have horrible headachdes almost every day and he now is talking about "uping" my medication to 2 grams a day. i don't know if i really want to take that much diamox, knowing that it can cause kidney damage. he also spoke about possible surgeries to release the pressure in my head. i don't know how comfortable i am with doing any of this. if someone knows more about this them me, please answer me back. thank u

Might Help
I was in the same situation a few years ago. I was having a lot of side effects with the Diamox and was all around not happy. My doctor started me on 500 mg time release capsules and most of the side effect went away. I don't know if your doctor has tried this or not but it is much better than regular diamox and you only take one pill a day. It does cost a little more but it is really worth it.
