I am 13 years old and am in 10th grade. I sleep 2-3 hours a night, at most 4 hours on the weekends. I have insomnia. My mom is a nurse, and can not get me to sleep. I have tried sleeping medicine, but it does not work. Any suggestions?

Have you tried bathing in bath salts? Studies show that bathing can help people with sleeping disorders and relieves their stress. It'll also alleviate tension, making you more inclined to sleep since your body will feel relaxed and restful. This will rid the body of any discomfort.

Drink Herb Tea
Try a cup of hot camomile, catnip, anise or fennel tea. All these drinks contain natural ingredients which will help you sleep.

Most health food stores will also have special blends of herb tea designed to soothe you and help you get to sleep. I bet you will find it helpful =)

May I know which sleeping medication you tried? You're still in your teens, i presume they're OTC?

It's always best to figure out the root of the problem. Nowadays, the sleep experts are advocating cognitive behavioral therapy...simply put, it's abt re-training your thoughts to think positively about sleep and remove causes of distress
