um...
my aunt recently passed away. it was officially labled as an accident-but my other family members choose 2 differ. they believe because of the high level of methadone in her system it 'had to be' an OD. i looked up alot of stuff on the net & have came 2 my own conclusion -i believe it wasn't an OD... it was actually a COMBINATION of the other medicines she had taken PLUS the methadone.
could my hypothesis be correct, and does anyone know where i can get more EXACT info. on this subject?
.....my family is throwing around alot of accusations & we none know EXACTLY what were talking about. its REALLY Bad....any help would be greatly appreciated
i have a copy of the main autopsy report, if it would help the report says:

femoral blood fluoxetine 2.8 mg/L {prozac}
femoral blood methadone 1.2 mg/L
femoral blood promethazine 0.25 mg/L {phenegrin}
femoral blood buproprion 0.1 mg/L {welbutrin}

The combo of drugs like prozac and methadone and phenergen and wellbutrin, together would increarse the effects of each other, and most likely maker her more sleepy, relaxed. Perhaps she may have forgotten she had taken her meds and then took them again. Most likely if she has built a tolerance to these meds, and added each one slowly and with the consent and knowledge of her dr. she should have been all right. Methadone, esp. has a very long half life, which makes it so that you can actually get by by taking it once a day, and it sustains for 24 hour or more. The only way to know if they were toxic, is to see when she started each, to know if the dr knew about the others, but mainly to look up each med and see what the therapeutic level in the bloodstream is and compare it to the one you have. Methadone is usualy prescribed in multiples of 10 mg, Phenergan for nausea, is usually taken prn, or if needed with other meds to decrease the side effect of nausea which could be from the methadone. Good luck
