Q: Cortisone Injections / Draining of Fluid?

Has anyone here had fluid drained from their joints and or cortisone injections. I am planning to get these soon from an oral surgeon. Right now I can actually feel fluid moving around in my joints, what I was told by a physical therapist is that this is lactic acid which is what is produced after a person lifts weights, for example and this causes the pain and burning sensations. I am hoping that the shots can take this away and would like to hear anyone else's experience with this. Thanks

Well I never had fluid drained but how ever I did get the cortisone injections, UGH side affects that day I was miserable. It kinda paralyzes your face, I could not close me eyes by myself for a phew hours I finnaly made my mom tape them down for me. Crying or Very sad But it could be different for you. Personally the shot didnt help me I've heard it often makes it worse, it made it worse for me. My fiance also got it and it made it worse.

Its something you should for think about it. I didnt think about mostly becuase I was in so much pain but it was not worth it at all. Crying or Very sad Ask some friends or family if they have hurd anything about it, research it online. So I have never hurd of anyone getting fluid removed from thier jaw before, what exactly is going with that? If you dont mind me asking. Smile

The fluid isn't in my jaw its more near my ear, I can feel it on both sides it moves down the side of my face but it doesn't go all the way down to my jaw.

Hey
I had fluid drained but it didnt do much. I had a steroid injection at the same time and all it did for me was make the peach fuzz on my cheek grow into a peach fuzz forest Laughing
