Q: Link Between Earaches And Leukemia

I heard just this morning the last part of a TV topic relating earaches in children to Leukemia. What is the deal with this? It scares me as my Granddaughter, aged 7 has had tubes in her ears for many years, and one of them has already fallen out, but she still get earaches and antibiotics don't always seem to help. Should I be worried??
I have already lost a young sister to Leukemia way back in 1964, but I know how scary it still is.
