No, but I'm willing to bet they dredged up the dregs of society to make a point about the incompetence of teenage mothers

Yup i watched all of the series. And yup Jules you're right There's one who handled her daughter roughly because she was going to touch her jeans with shocolate on her hands and she also gave her biscuits for breakfast and another who's got a 10 month old and is 4 months pregnant and still smoking

I love how no matter what the situation tv specials and the news only portray the most negative aspects of teenge life. I know many girls who got pregnant and did everything they could to make that childs life the best it could be, but you will never see their side of the story.

Yep Jules is right, it was teen mums in the uk.
I dont know about the girls in it being the "dregs of society". I think a lot of teen mums over here ARE like that. Im surrounded by them in this area. Ofcourse they love their kid/s, but they dont seem very capable of looking after them well. I see them smoking while pregnant CONSTANTLY in the town, and they keep having one baby after another, living on benefits and dragging their kids up. Its sad. They spend all their money on cigarettes, big gold jewellery for themselves, and getting their nails done - when it should be spent on the child imo. Some even spend it on drugs. I always see the kids eating junk and being ignored while they are crying, or being yelled at.

I know this is a different situation...but it reminded me. It's just like everytime they interview someone from around my area. It doesn't matter what the interview is for, they somehow find the most ignorant white trash person they can get there hands on. Just thought I would throw that out there!
