how many items of clothing approx do your kids own? i tend to go way OTT with my two. they must each have around 20 pairs of jeans, layla has at least 15 skirts, 10 dresses, tons of tops... well i find it very hard ot keep on top the washing as there is so many clothes.

now layla has grown out of her clothes and loagn is nearly out of his so i decided i am drastically cutting down for 1.i can't afford them 2. i want to make it easier to do washing

how many outfits do you think is a reasonable amount?

for layla i was thinking 5 pairs jeans, 5 skirts, 5 dresses, 15 tops,5 jumpers, 3 cardigans

is this too much/ too little?

let me know your opinions please girls Very Happy

lol.. each of my kids have two 18 gallon tubs worth of clothes.

put it this way.. if i didnt want to do laundry for a month, they'd still have clean clothes to wear til the end lol.

finn had way too many clothes when he was tiny, so i've learned now. i do laundry weekly and when we stay home he just wears a onesie or a t-shirt so he doesn't need much. for fall i think he has about 5 pairs of pants and maybe 8-10 shirts (because my mom keeps buying him stuff).

i think if i had a girl she'd have a different outfit for every day of the year!

Ahh Kaylee has so many clothes, it's crazy! I think what you said with the 5 pairs of jeans, 5 skirts, etc is reasonable but I don't know if I could do it lol, I love baby clothes Laughing

my kids got sooo many clothes, i just did winter shopping, joseph prob has like 7 jeans, he has like 100 t-shirts, they are all 2nd hand, my mother in law sent em to us. like tons , he has like 10-15 long sleeves now that i bought recently, jordynne has quite a bit of clothes but the KIK just has such cute clothes. i could prob go a month without doing laundry but lately ive been doing laundry daily since joseph and he rbeen sick and throwing up on things. i was gonna post pics of the cute stuff i got but image cave is being retarded and tiny pic too. i think what you said becky is a reasonable amount like specially if you have like plain jeans and u can mix and match shirts ya know. they tend to spill more things on shirts then anything else too.

Rowan wore some things once, or twice, and then she was too big. It's like, how many times can they wear an outfit in the six week period that it fits? Down sizing is great! Always look for ways to downsize in your life. Consume less, be more frugal. It feels right. I think the amount you are looking to buy Layla is reasonable IF it is not all new. I think buying mostly second hand and then just a few new outfits is the way to go. That said, I've had people buying Rowan clothes left and right so I never buy her any, but if I did, that would probably be what I would do. Buying second hand keeps things that would other wise go into landfills in good use... it's good for the environment, and very bad for capatalism, and definitely the right thing to do. When I move out I'm going to try to furnish my apartment using as little money as possible. I'm going to freecycle everything I can't take with, and get everything I need from freecycle, and junk yards (I'm talking tables and chairs, and I know how to scrub things and make them pretty so no one say "ewww").

I went on a tangent... Basically, if you do buy Layla all those things I would suggest not getting them all new.

thats what i do, most of josephs were given to me and half of jordynnes things came from ebay, i sent 2 of my friends boxes of baby clothes that dont fit her anymore. But now jason wants me to save all my clothes so when we have another kid in like 5 yrs well have stuff. but i only have 12-18mth up for boys and 4mth and up for a girl so its stupid.

william has way too many clothes and he hardly wears most of them but thats cos every stage he goes into (eg 12-18mnths) we get about 4 bin bags full of clothes from bobbys cousin! theyre all next clothes as she goes on ebay and gets them cheap and half of them have still got the price tag of them!!! unfortunately, her taste in baby clothes isnt to be desired for and william doesnt wear many of them, but i do try
