Q: Question About Protection From Pregnancy On Ortho Lo

Hi, I am currently on my third pack of Orth-Lo and had a question about protection from pregnancy. During my second pack (last month), I missed the last two light blue pills, which were the last two of week 2. I followed the instructions and took two pills the following day, (on Sunday and two pills the next day, on Monday) meaning, I took pills for 7 days, before starting the placebos, and abstained from sex, for a week and a half. I had spotting for about a week, and got my period when it was suppossed to arrive. However, I then had sex at the end of the placebo week (Fri, Sat and Sun) and resumed the new pack of pills, starting with the whites, that Sunday night. I was wondering if I was still protected from pregnancy during those days at the end of the placebo week. In short, b/c I missed two pills at the end of week 2, was I still protected from pregancy at the end of the placebo week. I thought I had followed the directions and was protected until I started poking around on the internet and saw otherwise. Any answers would help. Thank you.

You are fine.

If you followed the directions, and waited at least a week of taking pills you are protected.

Any time you have taken the pills correctly for seven days you are protected.
