My daughter is 8 and has started showing symptoms of puberty? Is it too early?

I have had to buy her a training bra and deoderant. She has reported pubic hairs growing and expressed a pain in her abdomen that lasted for a couple of days. She hasn't started her period yet, but I bought smaller fimine napkins just in case she does. I have heard of girls starting their period around 9, but I didn't start until I was 12.

She is taking ADHD medication? Could that be a cause?

All girls are different I started my period at 12 aswell but my sister in law started hers at 9 and started going through pubity at 8 it could be that. Make sure you tell her about her period just in case so shes not scared. Good luck.

No, the ADHD medicine is not the cause. Didn't you make another post about this already? It's normal. Girls these days are hitting puberty sooner. If you're concerned, take her to a gynecologist.

Hmmm
Most girls start hitting puberty around 5th grade (10 years old). 8 years is a bit early but not that unusual. Some kids are early to hit puberty and some kids are late. I was one of those late kids. Most boys start masturbating at age 13 while I started at age 15, I was 2 years late. It's perfectly possible your daughter is 2 years early.

If you are concerned you can check with your pediatrician. More than likely, she's just early, but it's possible that there are thyroid/pituitary problems.

My daughter is 7 and is going thru the same thing. I took her to the doctor and they told me too just prepare her for the changes. She took off on a growing spurt
she is 4ft 6 in and 93 lbs and in the first grade. she is getting pimples, mood swings you name it. I to find it not right, but there is nothing they can do to slow it down.
My friend told me they have done studies on meat, milk anything from animals that have been fed a large amount of hormones could be a reason.

Yeah, it's a combination of the food we eat AND the fact that we CAN eat food. Back in the day where everyone was eating small portions of unhealthy foods (not that our food is amazingly healthy) they didn't gain as much weight and didn't mature as quickly.

I dont remember ever not having pubic hair.
it was always there but it was very thin.
it started coming in thick when i was like 6-7.
im a really hairy person though.
it grows fast, long, and EVERYWHERE.
but yeah pubic hair wasnt a sign of puberty for me.
i didnt start my period till i was a freshman in highschool.
as for breasts....still waiting for those haha

but yeah your daughter probably is going through puberty.
what with our hormone pumped foods and all.
