Q: Virus or infection ? throat, tongue, and lymph nodes swollen

after taking the avelox now for 3days my throat feels a little better, but my jaw is still a little swollen, what should i do my doctor is not availble until tuesday.
should i have been better by now, does stress affect this at all ?

According to your symptoms (increased temperature and swollen lymph nodes under the jaw) you could be experiencing some type of throat infection. It's not possible to correctly identify which infective agent caused the infection: it could be a virus or bacterium. No matter the cause, three days are not enough to cure the infection. A viral throat infection should pass spontaneously after several days with or without medicines. Bacterial throat infections are more severe than viral and antibiotic treatment can shorten the recovery period. You can take antibiotics for 7 days at least, if prescribed.
