Q: knee replacement surgery and longer leg
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 2nd, 2007
Recently I had knee replacement surgery and during physical therapy, it was noted by myself and the physical therapist that I now had one leg longer than the other by 1 inch. Why would this be?

In addition, the surgeon said that, prior to the knee replacement, I was slightly knocked-knee and putting in the new knee created the difference in length. Shouldn't that have been adjusted for when choosing the knee replacement?

I'm sorry, but I can't answer your question at this time. This is a question for an expert-orthopedist!
