I've recently become intimate with a man i've been dating. I knew right away from our first time that something wasn't right. He mentioned that I was too tight and that it hurt him so he stopped in the middle of intercourse and he didn't try the rest of the night. A week later, we tried again to no avail. He made up some excuse, said that he was tired.
Finally he confessed to me that he had been unable to sustain an erection for about a year now but hadn't been to the doctor. He said it was very difficult for him to tell me and he was clearly freaked out, and was scared to tell me before.
I am trying to understand what is happening. He decided to go see a doctor but when I asked him about it, he was very vague and couldn't seem to explain it to me. He said it had something to do with his kidney, and arteries. Something about a valve failure. And that he has to go in for an ultra sound and go under the knife.
I'm no medical professional, but I was just wondering if this sounds right. Do you get ultrasounds to check for erectile dysfunction and is surgery a common form of treatment? I just figured the doctor would try to rule out a host of other possibilities, like psychological causes, checking testosterone levels, etc., before already going with surgery. That was after the first visit to the doctor. It just sounds so sudden. If anyone can shed some light, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
