I started to try using tampons a while ago, but they were so painful to put in and take out that I just couldn't make myself do it! I'm a bit better now and can get them in and out, but when I put them in...and for a little while after...I have this dull ache in my lower stomache. Am I doing it wrong? If ya have any tips plz help me! My mother is away and I'm in a house full of guys Shocked

If you can using a pad shouldn't hurt like that. That way you can just deal with the diaper until your mother comes home.

Also, if it helps sometimes I get an ache too if I put them in wrong; say if they're too deep or not deep enough. But I have no idea why. Guess that may be something you have to learn.

Try pushing it in a bit deeper. I had a hard time my first time using them.
If yu ever have a hard time putting the applicator in you can put a bit of lubrication in the tip so it can go in easier. Hope ur doing better

They don't bother me as much. I like that they are biodegradable and easier to dispose of but plastic ones are much easier to deal with when you first start out using them.

Viictoria, you wont have to worry about using them for awhile Wink You get pads for at least 6 weeks after too which is NEVER fun.

be sure you are using them right! my cousin (raised by her dad) used them and didn't take the applicator out. She did that for about 3 years before someone told her to take the applicator out. I also get a little pain in my abdomen, I just think it's because it's dry going all the way up there, drying out the sides, or that's what I think the pain is because it goes away in about 2 minutes max.

They only hurt me if I have cramps real bad, otherwise they are painless. I usually swicth between pads and tampons. Also you could be using a higher absorbency level than you need to be using. Get the variety pack. Most women have it heavy the first couple of days and then it gets lighter and lighter.

tampons can cause TSS so make sure that you change them every 2-3 hours

I always got that with tampons no matter the type or size or applicator. I use something different now called a Divacup Smile

So yes, that pain is normal Razz And it sucks.

True; and doing so sucks if you're really light cause then they're still dry and it feels like you're pulling out your uterus!

Thanks a Ton
Thanks for all of the advice. I've switched to the plastic applicator and it feels a bit better, although my abdomen still feels a bit funky. I guess I'll get used to it Rolling Eyes
