High Blood Pressure , Preeclampsia , and Pregnancy Posted: 08-30-07 13:43pm
High Blood Pressure runs in my family and
my sister got preeclampsia when she was
pregnant with her child. I was wondering
if I am in more danger than most woman, or
if preeclampsia just hits random women
like morning sickness.

Detection of pre-eclampsia is very
important to prevent ecalmpsia because
eclampsia is life-threatening condition.
Pre-eclampsia manifests with high blood
pressure but it is not related with the
disease known as arterial hypertension.
The etiology, or cause, of pre-eclampsia
remains unknown. Unfortunately, there is
no current way to predict the condition.
Morning sickness is a much more common
event during pregnancy than pre-eclampsia.
They aren't even related. It is very
important to monitor blood pressure during
the pregnancy especially in the second
half of the pregnancy. If high blood
pressure is noticed, proteins in the urine
should be also examined.
