Q: After tonsillectomy operation , I feel something at the back
asked by: DoctorQuestion on August 29th, 2007
I saw the ENT that did my surgery but he said he saw nothing there. He gave me Nexium to take. I looked up what Nexium is prescribed for and I do not have heartburn or acid reflux.

Do you have any idea what this can be ?? I really feel that this is a result of surgery. What do you recommend I do??

Current medical treatment: Since the 1st day of surgery, I can feel something at the back of my throat or tongue"

If you feel that there is something in your throat after the tonsillectomy operation, you can ask for a second opinion from another ENT-specialist. If the result is the same (nothing found), perhaps you are experiencing some type of anxiety disorder that triggers a psycho-somatic sensation.
