Back pain
I happened to find your post here and I am going through the same with my spine. I tend to get a crushing feeling as well. Xrays came out normal and Docs can't figure it out. I have tried pain medication which is no help as well as physiotherapy, massage therapy and chiropractic care. The chiropractic care helped somewhat for a few hrs but that was it. I'm in the process of finding a new family doctor that will listen to me and help sort this out as it is crippling for me at work and I break into tears a lot. What ever you do don't give up hope and keep searching for answers.

Just a suggestion but could you ask your doctor for an x-ray or better still, an MRI. If there are some changes (like Sillyakchick indicated) in your spine, a fracture or degenerative disc disease would show up. DDD is basically arthritis in your discs because as you age, the discs begin to harden, change shape or bulge, causing nerve pain.

You can't start to get over the pain until you find the cause. Try to get a referral to a spinal surgeon or osteopathic physician, so that they can look for it.

Good luck.

sounds like you should try the chiropractor. You may need to go 3 times a week about 8 times. Try it, you will be amazed how much better you will feel. Anytime I have shoulder, neck, back and arm pain. Chiropractic adjustments corrects the issues. Feel better soon!

lower back pain on spine
i thought i had a serious problem because my spine was hurting for years. i did sit ups, stretched, bended...everything to strech it out. One night I was laying on my back on our rug that is on hard wood floors for about half hour watching tv. i got up and pain was GONE! I really think my mushy mattress was the culprit. Try laying on a hard surface and make sure your spine is pressed against the floor.

First of all, keep in mind that I am unable to diagnose you because I am unable to examine you,The symptoms and story that you provide are concerning, but non-specific. Pain to the touch in the spine area is concerning for arthritis,You should do an X-rays and MRI but if you have not had an MRI of your lumbar Back pain - low Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Herniated lumbar disk Herniated nucleus pulposus Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) Lumbar spinal surgery - series Lumbar vertebrae Spinal surgery - lumbar Vertebra, lumbar (low back) spine with contrast, you need one. This will give you more information on what is going on. I would also recommend a bone scan.I hope this has been helpful.

spine pain
I have the same pain on the bony part of my spine, one spot at c6 c7 (been diagnosed with bulging disc)and one about 5 inches down in between shoulder blades. I have been managing this for a few years with stretching, good posture, chin tucks and all the tricks I've learned. Today both spots hurt along with my shoulder (traumatic RTC injury with dislocated biceps tendon repair in 07) Why are all three hurting? How do I make it stop? I only know how to make the muscles not hurt, not the bones...help!

pain in the spine and upper back
Hi,
im 22 male 5'10 170lbs have flat feet and most likely a lack of iron in my blood. when i touch my spine it hurts like hell and when i move my sholders like do rounds with my sholder pads to stretch , i can feel my upper back crack a good 5-15 times in a single motion. some times ill be in so much pain ill drop a few tears. my job requires me to stand um a total of 5 hours a day (half hour standing hald hour on a chair. Just that makes the pain unbareble towards the end of my shift or even through out the whole day after just 3 days worked in a row, i recently started getting pain in my right knee, just under the knee pad.

Quote:
have flat feet

Are your feet points outwards instead of straight ahead? This can make the feet roll in and they go flat overt time.
Quote:

This is probably related to your flat feet. The knee is getting overstressed.

This is a whole other issue. best to start with your hip problems (core distortion) first and then get to the shoulders after. That is, if you don't have the time to work on everything at once.

From what you write I would recommend you buy:
** "The Egoscue Method of health Through Motion" by Pete Egoscue. **

I think you are CONDITION ONE.
- Feet rolled in.
- Too much arch in your lower back

This is actually a pretty easy posture to fix. It comes from strength so you need to relax and stretch out your muscles.

** DO a Google search for full descriptions of the following 5 exercises**

1) "STATIC BACK POSITION"

2) Some type of "HANSTRING STRETCH".
- I like the one where you lie on your back.
- Put a Yoga strap of towel around your foot.
- Pull the strap towards you and lift your leg until you feel a good stretch at the back of your legs - the hamstrings.

3) "DOWNWARD DOG"
- This is a Yoga Pose.

4a) "SITTING ABDUCTOR PRESS ECISE"
- You sit on a low stool so your thighs are parallel to the ground.
- Wrap a Yoga strap or belt around your thighs just above your knees.
- Your knees are hip-width apart - your thighs are parallel to each other.
- Press OUTWARDS against the strap.
-IMPORTANT STEP!!: As you press out against the strap, roll your feet OUTWARDS so the weight is on the outer edges of your feet - NOT the balls of your feet. This is the OPPOSITE of what you are doing now with your feet rolling in.
- You should feel the muscles on your inner hips working.

4b) Open up the strap as far as it will go.
- Your legs will be spread apart at a 45 degree angle.
- repeat as in 4a and do the IMPORTANT STEP of rolling your feet out.

5) "PROGRESSIVE GROIN STRETCH"
- Do a Google search.
