I'm constantly researching endometriosis and trying to get as much info on it as possible. My doctor and gyno believes that I have endometriosis, but we won't know for sure until I have a laparoscopy done in about 6 weeks. In the mean time, while I'm waiting to have the laparoscopy done, I want to see whether I can find out some information from women who has been through the symptoms, pain, struggling/struggled with finding a diagnoses and their experiences.

What symptoms did you experience before you were diagnosed and how were you diagnosed? Was it via laparoscopy? And how long did it take before you got a diagnosis? What treatments did you receive after you were diagnosed and did/does the treatments for your endo work or have bad side effects? What symptoms do you still experience?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated... I guess it's also for a bit of peace of mind to realise I'm not alone and that it's normal to be nervous and scared.

Thanks in advance...

Hi I was diagnosed with endo in january last year, before I was diagnosed I had severe period pain I would be bed-ridden for the first 2 days of my period, The only time I opened my bowels ever was when I had my period it never happened any other time of the month, I barely ever had intercourse because it really hurt during and for the next 2-5 days and I also had a miscarriage. I was diagnosed via laparoscopy (its the safest way to be 100%) I spent a year and a half going to different doctors and to the emergency room before I finally got a referal to a gyno then I waited 3 months for the laparoscopy. The first 6 months my treatment was no treatment besides pain killers as I was trying to conceive & the pain was bearable as they removed 75% of the endo while having the laparoscopy but after 6 months the pain was getting worse so I went on the pill but skipped all the sugar pills so I would hopefully not ever have a period but I had problems with the pill so I was put on monthly Zoladex shots for 6 months but After 5 months had bad side effects so stopped that and went back on the pill and thats where Im at now but having problems with that too now I get bad break-through bleeding. My symptoms now, my period pain is JUST bearable intercourse still hurts but I dont have the bad days after anymore, My bowels are almost normal, Ive now developed ovulation pain but its not too bad, as of next month Im back to no treatment as Im going back to trying to conceive "full-time" so Im going to try something called the endo diet for pain management, The endo diet can be found by googling it. I hope that helps you with some of your decisions but please remember everyone is different and everyone reacts different to treatments and last but not least YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I you feel like chatting pm me.
