My daughter has an abundance of medical symptoms and we are not getting a good response of what to test: Symptoms: Low weight (she is following celiac diet for that), she is 5'3 and just now weighs 89.5 pounds, nicotine ring around mouth sometimes more visible than others. About this time last year her feet started collapsing and muscle weakness in her legs. They tested muscle strength and it was down but did not come back with anything definitive. It had stopped progressing (she could barely walk upstairs) but she is now having pain, burning, tingling in her legs and into one hip and occasional blurring in one eye lasting just a few seconds, but almost daily. They have done an MRI of the brain and has been tested for MS. Help!

Hi. In my experience with MS, I had symptoms for years that were undiagnosed. I would seek medical attention, but never received an explanation for my symptom.

Now doctors are paying much closer attention to neurological symptoms and those who do have MS have a better chance of being diagnosed early. The MRI is one of the best diagnostic tools for MS. But if it is no MS, the MRI could also give them other information needed to reach a diagnosis. Have you returned to the doctor for the MRI results? And also, may I ask, how old is your daughter?
