Slight Ptosis In Left Eye
Posted: 03-19-04 10:12am

Question Question hello, I am a college student and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for things to help a slight ptosis in my left eye. I can't even remember when I got this ptosis...It really became apparent to me in high school and throughout the first few yrs of college though. Does anyone have any suggestions or methods of helping it...Besides getting more sleep, splashing water on my face...Etc? It really bugs me and I think it hurts my appearance, and also it seems that I feel more tired because of this slight ptosis in my left eye. Thanks a lot!!!!!

My mother had this all her life & honestly she was usually the only one aware of it, it bothered her more than anyone ever noticed it, but when she was bothered by it, it sometimes seemed to worsen, so my advice(apart from rest, is try to relax, chill & forget it, maybe it will forget you abit too!!

Hey dave,
damn, it's pretty crazy hearing what you had to say, I think i'm in the exact same position as you. Lately i've been thinkin that my left eye sometimes doesn't open as much as my right, and I looked it up on the net and came up with ptosis. I sorta noticed it in highschool but didn't really care. I'm in first year college. I get really tired during the day too, round 2pm-5pm, what's up with that? Oh and purple333's got a point, my buds didn't really notice until I asked them to check my eye out, maybe we're worryin too much?

Thats what my mom always says...And I am dating this really hot girl right now and I never asked her about it...Nor does she seem to notice @ all. I was thinking about getting something done after school like when I am 25...I am almost 21 now...But of course I don't have enough money to get anything done now. It just bothers me that I have it...And not many other people do u know? And I can feel the tiredness set in too. Oh well...Get back to me man...I'd like to chat w/ u more cuz u are in college too. Take care.

Hey man,
sure sounds good, since we're on the same page it seems.
I'm going to talk to my doc about it on wednesday. I'm not really sure what's gonna come out of this, but I just wanna get some more info. The idea of surgery is kind of a pain, i'd rather get it over with if I need it before the next semester, but i've also gotta work and make some cash. It's a real bother.

Anyways i'll tell you what the doctor says sometime!
Later!
-dean.
