Q: Flooding

I am so mad! Our basement (which we live in) flooded for the second time last week. It was about -4 inches of standing water and it ruined our couches. Right now we are living upstairs(the basement was a finished apartment and the owners are trying to sell the house so we usually just stay downstairs) but I can still smell the stench. I hate it! I now have a horrendous headache, am plugged up, and my eyes are watering. I didn't think that mold would set in so fast.

Now I am concerned about living here with Luke. He has been fussy too so I hope that it isn't the mold that is making him fussy. I am thinking about finding somewhere else to stay for the next few days or so but my husband is working late tonight so he is staying with an uncle close to his workplace and I am home alone. The other car that we have I can't drive because it has no insurance. Argh!

Do you guys think that it is bad for Luke to be around this crap?

KK, I am done venting now.

I think if it's bothering you than it would probably be bothering him too, to what extent I'm not sure.
Were you able to get the water out? Are you able to get a dehumidifier down there?

My basement flooded in my apartment years ago and I lost everything down there and I remember how awful it smelled. Ewww I feel for you.

Yes, we got the water out.

We have dehumidifiers and fans going down there but everytime that the a/c kicks in we get a horrible smell worse than it actually is down there. I am going to try to find somewhere to stay till we get the problem fixed.
