Off Birth Control--wanting to Get Back On..but No Period. Posted: 08-26-07 21:50pm
Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I was
wondering if anyone could offer me some
advice. I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo
for three years but in July my pharmacy
did not mail my birth control in time. So,
I've been off it for about a month and
have not had my period yet. I've taken a
pregnancy test and it was negative. I want
to start a new pack, but I think you're
supposed to wait until your period comes.
Is it safe to start a pack, even though I
havent gotten my period yet? Thanks.

You don't have to wait for your period to
start, you can start whenever you want to.
Just remember that mid-cycle starting
means you'll have to use protection for
one week.
The pills are available at any pharmacy in
your area, so you don't have to wait for
your doctor to mail them to you.

Some do for insurance reasons. I used to
be on insurance where I had to wait for
them to mail it to me otherwise I had to
pay full price.

Well that stinks, what's the point of
having the insurance for it if you're
paying full?
