Well, my fil had another heart attack last
Thursday. It seemed to come from an
adverse reaction to the meds he was taking
to recover from the bypass. So now he is
looking at a longer recovery. He is back
in the hospital under observation and is
trying to force himself to relax.
Even with the stress of that, we still
used the conception cup on Friday night.
It looks like it might have been too soon,
though, because I don't have post-o temps
yet. My fertile signs are fading, so
hopefully, I'll get my temp increase
tomorrow. We haven't been doing any extra
bding because my dh has too much to think
about with his dad, so we'll just have to
rely on Friday for this month.
Star - are you back yet? How did the
vacation bding go?
Jude_love - have you ovulated yet this
month?
I think all three of us temp, right? post
your charts and we can follow each other.

Hey Shorty - Im sorry to hear about your
fil having another heart attack. I will
pray for you guys and for your fil for a
speady recovery.
Hopefully you and dh got in enough bding
this time. I wanted to ask you about the
cup, is it awkward to get it in and out?
I was just wondering because I would think
that it would be difficult.
I would post my chart, but it wouldn't
show anything. I took everything with me
to Maine (my thermometer and the opk's),
but once I got up there, I didn't want to
be bothered or consumed with it at all. I
knew that I was going to be o'ing around
tuesday so I just planned it around then.
I took my temp on Tuesday morning just for
kiks and it was on its way up to post o
temps, and then again on Wednesday and it
was way up there so I kinda figured that I
o'ed on Tuesday. We bd'ed on Friday, Sat,
Monday late night(he woke me up in the
middle of the night) and then again on
Wednesday. So hopefully it did the trick
to not be obsessed about it. I am going
to start temping tomorrow, or maybe today
since I took my temp this morning.
Hope you guys are doing ok.

How was your vacation? Sounds like you
and dh got in plenty of bding.
I think I o'd on Friday or Saturday, but
my temps don't seem to agree. It had so
much EWCM on Friday, that I felt wet most
of the day. On Sat I had less EWCM but my
opk was a little darker.
The cup is a bit awkward to get in and
out. It's hard to tell if it is on there
right when you first put it in, but you
realize how well it is on when you take it
out. I did buy some instead cups as well
in case we wanted to do more than one try
putting the spermies next to the cervix.
We didn't end up doing that but I can tell
you that the circumference of the instead
cup is much bigger than the circumference
of the conception cup. I suspect that
leaks might be more common with the
instead cup.

I think you have said that before about
having EWCM but ovulation is not noted on
the opk right? I have read that you can
get EWCM more than once in your cycle. I
have often wondered that myself about the
CM. If when you get it does that mean
that you are definitely o'ing or that you
are on your way to o'ing? I have no idea
but would like to know. I usually dont
get much cm that I notice. I am checking
my cervix and my cm internally, that is
the only way that I know if I have any
EWCM and even then it isnt much. I try to
bd on the days that I notice EWCM as well
as the days after I get a positive opk. I
have been bd'ing the day that I get a
positive opk or even the day that it is
starting to show up on the stick. Then we
bd every other day. I try to remember
that, because I remember Negar saying that
is what her doctor said to do. (I wonder
where she went and how she is doing these
days)
If you are going to try the instead cups,
you should also purchace the non latex
condoms. I think I read that latex has an
adverse affect with the spermies. Are you
guys using the latex free condoms that the
conception kit comes with?
You are not that far behind me... I am
supposed to start af on Sunday I think, so
we will see. I have been haveing a ton of
bloating and mild cramps. Yesterday I
felt like I had done a 1000 crunches when
I woke up and that feeling stayed with me
all day. Today it isn't so noticable, but
it feels like my stomach is still tight.
And NO I haven't been doing sit-ups. (To
lazy right now)
Vacation was wonderful. I am going to
post about it today. The travel to and
from was horrible, but the actual vacation
was great.

Did you drive all the way up to Maine? I
can see how that would be horrible. I
don't like long drives at all. Did you
eat a lot of lobster when you were there?
FF gave me cross hairs for an ovulation on
cd 14. If that is correct, then my af is
due on Sunday the 9th. Is that a week
after you or the same day?
I think the tightness is a feeling that a
lot of women get before a bfp. Keep my
posted on any other symptoms.
My dh and I are going out of town for the
long weekend. Hopefully that will be a
good distraction from the 2ww.
The conception kit does come with
non-latex condoms. I didn't actually
purchase any condoms to use with the
instead cup. I suppose we should unless
we want to withdraw. I'll remember to get
non-latex ones. They seem less elastic
than latex ones.

No we didn't drive up there. Look in the
Pregnancy Chat, I posted the whole story
there. We ate tons of Lobster, like 5
times. I can't get enough of it.
Well I thought that I might have a chance
this month, but no such luck. I woke up
yesterday and had a little bit of blood
and by the time I left for work, there was
nothing and nothing all day long. So I
was thinking maybe we did it and that it
was implantation bleeding...NOPE. Last
night I was woken up by some pretty bad
cramps and this morning, she was here full
force. I wasn't even supposed to start
until Sunday. So that makes it a 23 day
cycle. That is the shortest I have had.
Usually they are around 26 days. I don't
understand why I would have such a short
cycle.
Oh well, I guess its on to September for
me!!!

I'm sorry about af. I'll look for the
Maine post on the other chat board.
As for me, we visited my fil at the
hospital last night. When we were there,
he had another episode. We were wheeling
him down the hallway of the hospital and
he started complaining that he couldn't
breath. Next thing we knew all these
nurses are running down the hall toward us
yelling to get him back to his room. I
had this overwhelming feeling of being in
the way and I couldn't think of anything
to do that would be useful, so I headed
straight back to the room to find my mil.
I thought that they would be right behind
me but when I turned around, I saw them
take him into a closer room.
As I approached I could hear them say that
his heart stopped. My dh helped get him
up onto a bed and then came out to join me
and his mom. They called a code blue and
there was such a scene that everyone on
the floor came out of their rooms to see
what was going on. They did CPR and got
his heart going again. He was in such
pain because his chest still has not
heeled from the bypass surgery. He was
groaning and the nurse asked him questions
to find out where he hurt. He affirmed
that it was his incision that hurt. The
nurse told him that it was her fault that
it hurt and that she had given him CPR
because his heart stopped. He responded,
"I appreciate it."
Those were the first words he spoke after
being recussitated. It put a smile on our
lips.
Anyway, they took him down to ICU and got
him on a resperator. He has been heavily
sedated since. We got a negative
prognosis this morning. His heart is only
operating at 20%. It is day by day right
now, but it is unknown if he is strong
enough to fight back from where he is.
I'm actually very worried about my dh. In
fact, I feel like I am more emotional than
anyone in his family. After the cardiac
arrest when we were sitting in the waiting
room, my dh's mom was telling his sister
about our plans to go our of town for the
weekend. In my mind, we were definitely
cancelling those plans, but my dh and his
mom seemed to act as if we were keeping
our plans. We finally cancelled them this
afternoon several hours after we heard the
prognosis. I need to read about the
stages of grief because I think this is
sinking in slowly for my dh.
Anyway, we just got home and I was glad to
take off the clothes I had been wearing
for two days straight. I definitely have
a huge distraction in my 2ww.

Wow, That sounds like you guys have been
through the ringer and back. Im sorry to
hear about your fil. I will pray for him
to have a speedy recovery. Its good that
you are there for your husband and your
mil. Guys have a hard time processing
emotions sometimes and its good that you
are there to help him process them. And
also to be there for your mil. Im sure
she needs a good cry and you are a good
person to be there for her.
