On Birth Control..but Thinking I Might Be Prego?

Ok so, here goes..
I'm currently on the birth control patch, Ortho-Evra and have been since i had my daughter. (she's 15 months)
My "patch change" day is Wednesday, and i usually get my period on friday or saturday morning...latest i've ever gotten it was Sunday. Anyways.. last month i never really got my period, i started bleeding a little bit on the following Monday night. I was having cramps and figured it was coming and for whatever reason was just a lil late. It wasn't much, so i just wore a liner to bed. Woke up the next morning and there was pretty much nothing on it, i put in a tampon just to be safe cause i was going out all day. Went to change it later and nothing was goin on down there.... it kept coming and going all day tuesday & part of wednesday but it wasn't like a full period, wasn't heavy.. and was practically only there when i wiped. Anyways so i put another patch on on wednesday cause i didn't know what was goin on.... and i have one more patch left for this month. Is it possible that i could be pregnant!? If so, will my taking birth control affect the baby!?... i did a test on the wednesday i put on the patch but it was negative. I haven't been stressing about it, i'm just curious. anyways.. hope that wasn't too confusing! lol sorry

Since no birth control is perfect, there is a possibility of pregnancy.

Fortunately, birth control hormones will not harm a fetus. I would say it does seem to be time to test.
