Q: Scooter Ok For Hernia?

My boyfriend got inguinal hernia a few months ago and it seems to have gotten a bit worse lately. His doctor asked him to avoid all sports and stretching, and also asked him to rest for a week.

His work involves a lot of walking, so once he gets back to work, he's going to ask his boss to give him as much desk time as possible. But even so, there's some distance between his home and the subway station and also between the station and work. I was thinking to get him a scooter to avoid as much walking as possible.

But I wasn't sure if scooter was ok. It does involve pushing with one leg. Could an expert enlighten me?

Thank you~
