Adonem Pains
Posted: 08-24-07 16:10pm

I,m 37 male, average build..
Ive been having pains in my right upper abonem for 4 weeks,(about 3cm's to the right and 3cm below the belly button area) Altho sometimes the pain can move to the far right side. The pain got so bad i was taken into hospital on two occasions. At first i was told it could be acute appendicitis, I had water & blod samples done, then i had an Exray taken followed by a Xray where they injected dye into my system and took more exrays, then on the 2nd time they did me a ultra sound examination. All three exams came out ok & nothing looked out of the ordinary, according to the doctors. I am now booked in for a camera (up the rear end!) but i am at a loss to what could be causing this pain. I dont have any fever, my appetite is as good as it always is, my stools (if thats the correct word for em) are slightly harder than normal & slightly darker but not too much differance & i,m regular. I have been taking ibuprofen which i am now told can have bad effects on this area!! i,ve took ibuprofen for months , even during drinking of alcohol regularly (weekend binges) which i have read can cause problems ! (i,m not a heavy drink, just 5 or 6 pints two nihts a week) but i was using ibuprofen as i get headaches when i,m out (bad eyesight) or for the occasional hangover..
I have also noticed for the last few months a bloatedness of the belly area, especially before and after a meal or whilst drinking ...
The docs are at a loss, but my pain still gets severe at times and other times its bareable but is still there, My abdonem is very tender to touch & i find it difficult to get in confy possitions, worst is when i am travelling in cars as this agitakes it more. I have read this is all symptons of the appendix but my scan says otherwised !
I was hoping someone could shed more light onto this as it is worrying me half to death wondering what could be causing the pain, are these exams accurate or should i worry incase my appendix bursts or something else to that matter ????
any help would be appreciated ...
