im considering using nonhormonal iud lik
paragard. i dont think id lik to keep
using bc pills theyll giv me more
depression. I was wondering if any one has
any feedback on non hormonal iuds or would
like to share their experience with it. I
know they cost alot but i dont plan on
having kids for more years to come.

I think it's a great form of birth
control. I don't have any experience with
the iud, but my doctor & I were
looking into before I got pregnant again.
Everything he explained to me about it,
seemed like a perfect form of birth
control. You do have to have atleast one
child to use this form though, & it's
easier for the doctor to place in your
cervix right after you've given birth. I'm
honestly not even sure if they'll do it
unless you immediately had given birth.
The iud is about as effective as any other
form of birth control, plus it lasts for 5
years without a run back to the doctor for
a re-fill or new shot every month or so.
I'm not sure how much it is to get placed,
but I do know that it costs $100 to get
taken out before your 5 years is up... but
atleast you have that option. Good luck!

It can have that side effect in the first
few months, but it doesn't always happen
and it isn't necessarily permanent.

You do not have to have had kids. If you
doc says you do, go to a different one.
The non-hormonal IUD may have the effect
of worsening periods right away, but it
usually goes away.
